Committee on Radio Astronomy Frequencies

The Committee on Radio Astronomy Frequencies (CRAF) is a committee of the European Science Foundation (ESF).

Radio observatory operating in Switzerland:

In Switzerland many frequencies between 0.45 and 4 GHz are used. These frequencies are of interest for the Bleien radio observatory.

Radio astronomical quality of the band:

  • complex - ranging from useless to rather good.

    Reason:

    Applications of the following radiocommunication services cause interference problems:

  • Aeronautical Radionavigation Service.
  • Broadcasting Service.
  • Fixed Service.
  • Mobile Service.
  • Radiolocation Service.
